San Juan Island Cruises
Bring the family or invite a group of friendsA crewed charter aboard the classic yacht Discovery offers an unforgettable way to explore the San Juan Islands. From Seattle, Anacortes, or Bellingham, charming destinations such as Port Townsend, Roche Harbor, and Friday Harbor are all within an easy day’s cruise.
Marinas on San Juan Island provide comfortable overnight moorage, giving guests time to wander through waterfront markets, browse local art galleries and boutiques, or relax at inviting cafés. For those seeking a quieter experience, we can also craft a custom itinerary that highlights the region’s uninhabited islands, abundant marine life, and the breathtaking natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest. Most guests enjoy a blend of both experiences—and on a private yacht charter, the itinerary is entirely up to you.
Discovery is available for charter from mid-September through early May each year—what we believe is the very best time to visit the San Juan Islands. Sheltered in the rain shadow of the Olympic Mountains, the islands enjoy sunshine an average of 247 days a year, making them a favorite destination for Pacific Northwest cruisers.
During the quieter seasons—especially the warm “Indian summer” months of September and October, as well as the fresh, beautiful days of spring—guests have a rare opportunity to experience this remarkable island archipelago without the summer crowds. It’s a more peaceful, intimate way to enjoy the scenery, wildlife, and charm of the San Juans.
